Ever just think 'Bloody hell, why does everything seem so difficult right now?'
Sometimes life can feel incredibly overwhelming and annoyingly this can also come out of nowhere. Here's a list to help keep yourself 'sane' when even the simplest of things like taking care of yourself can get on top of you.
Having a wash
This may sound like an easy one at first thought but especially if you may be in a depressive rut, washing can feel like a right obstacle. However this task can easily make you feel fresh and ready to start a day like the badass you are.
Starting with that beautiful face of yours.
A good friend of mine is a Face Halo. These are a reusable dual-sided make up remover that only need water to work. I bet you're thinking 'But Em, what about the water, I cant even get to a sink'. Remember that bottle of water you take to bed? Pop a little bit of that on your Face Halo.
The absolute beauty about these is that they do not require any forceful rubbing or scrubbing. Perfect for if you have sensitive eyes or just woken up. They can also be thrown in the wash with your usuals so no need to worry about a separate routine to keep them fresh.

Now for the rest of your gorgeous body.
A firm fave for a general wipe is the Andrex Hygeine Wipes.
My go to are the Pink 'Fresh and Sensitive'. They are 99% water, fragerence free and hypoallergenic. If you're feeling brave about your plumbing you can even flush two at a time as they do not contain plastic! (Disclaimer - I am not responsible for any plumbing bills if this is your method of disposal)
These are perfect for cleaning areas like your groin, behind your knees and under your armpits. If you decide against flushing, maybe pop them into a biodegradable bag for when you're next able to go to a bin.
Good old antibacterial
Can you tell I have abit of an obsession for wipes... ** face palm **
Wet Ones do four different fragrances. The 'Be Cute' are my absolute fave!
These bad boys kill 99.9% of bacteria while being biodegradable with zero plastic, alcohol-free travel friendly pocket wipes.
Whether it be for a messy meal out to general spillages and hand cleaning, I feel pretty boujee if I whip one of these out.

Brushing those nashers
As we know, looking after your teeth is very important. We're told to brush for a whole 2 minutes.
Well what if you can only manage 30 seconds today? You've ticked it off your to do list and have given them a little clean. That right there is a little win. Thirty seconds is better than nothing at all.
Another worthy option is grabbing yourself a electric toothbrush. Beware these can be a little expensive but wayyy easier for cleaning those teeth especially if you struggle with weakness in your hand like myself. A good place to look out for is Boots. A few years ago I was able to grab a Philips Sonicare for £80 with an RRP of £300! Was very chuffed, even the cashier was like 'sorry what?!'
A fresh outfit
Whether it be a fresh pair of underwear, PJs or joggers and a hoodie, make sure that you change your clothes as soon as you have enough energy to do so.
Quite often it can be easy to just stay in the clothes you are in. Especially if you're comfy. And even more so if you sturggle with limb weakness and fatigue. It is important to remember and even sometimes force yourself to get changed.
Getting dressed can offer so many benefits:
Helps with hygeine.
Clothes can accumulate sweat, dirt and odor.
Changing regularly helps prevent odor and minimise possible skin irritations.
Provides further comfort.
Changing can actually increase your comfort levels, especially if it has been hot and humid.
Confidence! Wearing fresh clothes can positively influence your mood. Helping you feel more put together and ready to take on the day.
Easy way to maintaining your favourite pieces.
Regularly changing and washing your clothes helps to maintain the quality and life span of your items. Allowing you to be able to wear your fave pieces for way longer!
And you know what, if you are really struggling to get your clothes in the wash right now and they arent soiled, invest in some Febreeze and crease releaser. These products can work absolute wonders in refreshing your items.
Talking of sprays...
May sound like a no brainer but sometimes when we're so overwhelmed we can forget a simple thing like deodorant.
Deodorant whether it be a roll-on or spray is an amazing extra step after you've had a shower or wash with wipes like above. Such a product can help to protect against sweat and odor up to 72 hours after your shower! You can get some gorgeous scents like the one I currently use with is Dove's Passion Fruit & Lemongrass.
If you're looking to add an extra bit of confidence boost to your routine, add a fine fragrance mist! You can grab these at every price range depending on your budget.
To conclude:
No matter what. Please be easy on yourself.
It's incrediby easy for me to sit here, typing away saying 'how about this'.
But take it from a chronic illness girly, I know it sucks to realise you have to work harder to get everyday things done, especially when you feel like you dont have the fricking energy to start with.
If you can find little ways (I like to call them wins) that help make your day easier, always run with them (figuratively speaking lol - sorry for the crap joke.)
I promise you that you are not lazy or taking the easy road by doing any of the above.
You're using the means you have been given to do your absolute best. So lets fucking boss it while making ourselves feel that bit better ay?
Lots of Love,
Em xx
